Brad Van Valkenburg

Bradley Van Valkenburg is a Senior Sustainability Engineer on MillerKnoll’s Design for Environment team, focusing on quantifying and optimizing the environmental and human health impacts of MIllerKnoll’s products. With extensive chemistry and engineering background, he collaborates with organizations internal and external stakeholders to collect and assess product data regarding chemical exposure and hazards throughout the supply chain. He is an active member of BIFMA’s (Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturers Association) Chemical and Environmental Impacts/LCA Committees and contributed in the development of BIFMA’s new e3 Sustainability Standard. Brad holds a Master of Chemical Engineering from Oregon State University where he focused on Utilizing Computation Methods to Model Physical Systems. Brad’s extensive modelling experience led him to publish: LCAs, “Modelling Nutrient Uptake and Growth of Algae Farms Off the San Pedro Shelf” and “Modelling Heterogeneous Catalyst Reactions in Microreactors”.
